Finding your pouch size

Please find your pouch size using the chart provided below. You should choose a size based on the weight range of the person carrying the baby. If you are currently pregnant, please choose a pouch corresponding to your weight before you got pregnant. Size up if you have a bustier chest (cup D and above), or have a broad chest (men).

Do note that the recommended size is just a suggestion, as most people can wear 2 different sizes depending on whether they prefer a tighter or looser fit.

    Wash Instructions:

Hand wash or machine wash cold, then line dry. This helps extend the life of the pouch.

    Benefits of Babywearing

PROMOTES BONDING. Carrying your baby is a great way to connect with her. Your baby is "right there" to enjoy whenever you feel like hugging, kissing or talking.

ADAPT TO WORLD .  By being so close to you and hearing your familiar heartbeat, breathing, voice and warmth, your newborn is able to adapt to life outside the womb much more quickly.

CALMS. Walking around and putting your arms round your baby in a pouch helps soothe fussy babies.

STIMULATES. Babies stay longer in a "quiet, alert state" when carried. This is the ideal state for learning. Rather than just seeing the world from their cribs or pram, wearing your baby allows him to see what you see and explore the world in your safe arms.

BREASTFEEDING. Breastfeeding in a pouch not only preserves your modesty, it also gives your tired arms a break and allows you to chat on the phone or surf the web.

MULTI-TASK. With your baby in a pouch, yours hands are freed up to do other things, like preparing meals, cleaning and caring for your other children.

GET A LIFE. Carrying your baby in a pouch while out shopping or running errands couldn’t be any easier. Definitely beats the hassle of carrying that heavy car seat or stroller. Just pop your baby in your pouch and go!

    Care Instructions:

Machine / Hand Cold Wash. Line Dry.

    FAQs

Why should I choose a fitted pouch carrier?
A fitted pouch carrier is loved for its simple, one-piece design. There are no rings, buckles or complicated adjustments, so you can simply pop baby in and go. The wide, slightly stretchable fabric helps distribute baby’s weight across your back, while the compact and lightweight design makes it easy to keep in a diaper bag or handbag.

Why do parents love Pupsik Baby Pouches?
Pupsik Baby Pouches are made with quality cotton fabrics that have a slight stretch for comfort. They come in stylish colours and designs, with sizing options made to suit different body frames. Each pouch also includes a handy pocket for small essentials such as a diaper or burp cloth.

Can I make my own pouch carrier at home?
A pouch carrier may look simple, but it needs to be made with strong, weight-bearing fabric and durable stitching. Pupsik Baby Pouches are triple-stitched with strong, high-quality thread for better support and durability.

How do I know if I have the right pouch size?
For a good fit, the bottom of the pouch should generally sit about 1 to 3 inches below your belly button. A pouch that is too small may feel uncomfortably tight and make it difficult to place baby in and out. A pouch that is too big may slip off your shoulder or cause you to arch your back while carrying.

Is the pouch too big if there is excess cloth during front or hip carry?
Not always. When baby first moves to front or hip carry, usually around 4 months, the pouch may feel a little roomy. Baby will grow into the position over time. You can also flip the top layer of fabric over your shoulder to help pull baby closer towards you.

Is my baby safe in a pouch?
Yes, when baby is positioned correctly. A pouch carrier should hold baby securely, much like carrying baby in your arms. Always follow the recommended safety instructions and make sure baby’s airway remains clear at all times.

Why does the pouch have padding?
Most Pupsik Baby Pouches include leg padding to cushion and support baby’s thighs during hip, back, front and tummy-to-tummy carries. The padding can also act as a guide when placing baby into the pouch, or as a comfortable grip for baby during front carry.

What is the age and weight limit?
Pupsik Baby Pouch can be used from birth through toddlerhood. The pouch is made to fit the caregiver, not the baby, so you do not need to size up as baby grows. Simply change the carry position as baby develops, from cradle carry for newborns to kangaroo, front or hip carry when baby has better head and body control.

Do I need to get a larger pouch as baby grows?
No. The same pouch size can be used as baby grows, as long as it fits the caregiver properly. The carry position changes according to baby’s age, size and developmental stage.

How do I care for my pouch?
Hand wash or machine wash cold, then line dry. This helps extend the life of the pouch.

Can I breastfeed in the pouch?
Yes, you can breastfeed in the pouch. However, because the pouch has a compact design, you may prefer to use a nursing cover if you would like more coverage.

My newborn looks cramped in cradle carry. Is that okay?
Many newborns enjoy the cradle carry position because it feels similar to the curled fetal position in the womb. When baby is around 3 to 4 months old and has better head control, you can move baby to a front carry position.
