Aloe-Vera: Aloe Vera, Aloe Barbadensis

Aloe Vera Gel is recommended for creating anti-irritant and calming cosmetic products, and its anti-inflammatory and healing properties have been proven in many studies. The fast improvement and healing of wounds is the result of the synergistic action of the gel’s many constituents, which act by reducing and increasing the collagen and glycosaminoglycans in new repair tissue. The active compounds responsible for these effects would be glycoproteins (promoters of cell proliferation), low molecular weight components (which boost re-epithelialisation and angiogenesis), and sugars, polysaccharides and phenolic compounds which have anti-inflammatory and anti-microbial effects.

Sunflower Helianthus Annuus L.

Sunflower extract is derived from the petals of Helianthus annuus L flowers, or from their seeds, which contain flavonoids, essential oils and active ingredients such as pectins and glucose. In cosmetics, Sunflower seed extract is used to protect natural and dyed hair colour from ultraviolet rays and free radicals. As well as its photo-protective and hair colour protection functions, it also has anti-inflammatory, anti-irritation, purifying and antiseptic actions. Sunflower essential oil is also used, which is known for its antiseptic properties.

Soya Glycine max

Soya originates from the Far East, where it has always been a staple food ingredient. It is currently grown in many temperate to warm climates across the world. Soya extract is derived from its seeds. Soya lecithin (phospholipid complex derived from soy beans) is mainly used in cosmetics as a hydrating agent. Soya extract is rich in carbohydrates, proteins, vitamins and minerals. It is used in cosmetics as a hair conditioner, due to its anti-breakage properties and its ability to hydrate and protect hair fibres. Its isoflavones protect hair colour from oxidization. In phytotherapy, Soya has been used in hormone replacement therapies during menopause and as an adjuvant in osteoporotic processes, again, thanks to its isoflavone content.

Wheat Triticum Vulgare

Wheat germ is the most nutritious part of Wheat and is used in cosmetic products due to its softening, hydrating and conditioning properties. Wheat Germ contains protein, carbohydrates, lipids, vitamin E, glucides, lecithin, mineral salts and trace elements. Its revitalising, stimulating and strengthening action helps to combat hair loss. Thanks to its proteins, it is used in cosmetics to provide hydration and improve skin elasticity. As a hair conditioner, it softens and protects hair colour from oxidisation and solar radiation.

FAQs

Q. Does it lighten the color of the hair?

A. No, the color reflections are created from your current shade. The hair fiber is covered with color pigments, but neither shampoos nor masks contain ammonia, hydrogen peroxide or any compound that could discolor or degrade the hair tone.

Q. Does it cover gray or darken it?

A. It conceals gray hair by giving it a translucent shade of color, which is why it is recommended if you have few gray hairs. The coverage of white is not complete as in the case of dyes, but it helps to give them a touch of color that harmonizes perfectly with the tone of the hair.

Q. Can it stain the skin, the towel or the shower?

A. We recommend that you protect the skin on your forehead and hands with cream before using ColourSafe, as it can leave traces on the skin. This is easily removed by washing it carefully with shampoo. It does not stain the towel or shower if it is rinsed well, and if there is any residue, it is easily removed with neutral soap. You can wear gloves too.

Q. Is it compatible with Henna coloring or with dye?

A. Yes, it is fully compatible both before and after dyeing the hair with any natural dye or color. ColourSafe does not fix the pigment inside the hair, therefore it does not transform the result of the dye.

Q. Does it dry out the hair?

A. No, on the contrary, it hydrates it. Both shampoo and mask contain nourishing and protective ingredients that care for the hair while giving it color. They contain natural Sunflower extract that protects and enhances color, moisturizing Aloe Vera juice, neutral Henna that gives strength to hair and vegetable Keratin that restructures.

Q. Is the shampoo enough to get a deep color?

A. The function of the shampoo is to maintain the color so that it is not lost during washing, that is why it contains pigment, but it is not a product to add color. The mask has a richer concentration of pigment and is the product with which you will achieve visible reflections.

Q. The mask, only 5 minutes or if I leave it on longer will it give me more color?

A. The mask performs its moisturizing and nourishing action in 5 minutes, as well as enhancing and protecting color during this time. If you let it act longer, you can do it for up to 15 minutes and the color effect will be more intense, adding visible reflections to your tone. To enhance the color, you can also make a first application on dry hair. In the following uses, just 5 minutes on damp hair will be enough.

Q. Can it be used daily or with every wash?

A. Yes, in fact you will lengthen the effect of the shampoo and mask that are frequently used. You can use them every time you wash your hair, even if it's daily. Also, if your usual shampoo is ColourSafe in the same color as your mask, you will prevent color loss and lengthen its effect.

Q. Do they contain silicone, ammonia, peroxide or drying alcohol?

A. No, ColourSafe Shampoo and Mask do not contain silicones or short-chain alcohols, as well as peroxides, parabens, phthalates, PEGs or ammonia.

Q. Can they be used during pregnancy and lactation?

A. Yes, ColourSafe is a color care treatment, with ingredients that are totally safe for pregnancy and lactation. They are free of metallic salts, color activator, resorcinol, PPD or substances usually present in permanent or semi-permanent dyes.
