FAQs

What is the difference between Maxtra PRO AND Maxtra+ Water Filers?

The MAXTRA PRO water filters are improved versions of the previous MAXTRA+ water filters in many respects:

By integrating an additional mesh in the bottom of the cup, even the smallest particles in the water are retained better.
50 % bio-based material for lid and funnel (mass balance)
Filter capacity has been increased by 50 % from 100 litres to 150 litres

Two filters are now available, instead of one, for more choice when enjoying water:

MAXTRA PRO All-IN-1
Reliable limescale reduction and the reduction of taste-impairing - as well as trace - impurities for delicious, fresh filtered water – both hot and cold! Designed for soft to hard water areas.

MAXTRA PRO LIMESCALE EXPERT
Ultimate limescale protection for appliances and demanding users. Designed for hard to very hard water.

Does the MAXTRA PRO filter cartridge fit all BRITA table water filters?

Yes, we want to make it as easy as possible for you. That's why the MAXTRA PRO cartridges are compatible with all current BRITA table water filters , including those with the PerfectFit system.

Where does the bio-based material for the MAXTRA PRO cartridges come from?

Our certified bio-based material consists of residues from the food industry, such as from the refining of vegetable oil. These plant-based raw materials are no longer suitable for consumption and are collected by the food industry and the catering industry.

What is bio-based material and is it really sustainable?

Bio-based plastics are made entirely or partially from renewable, biological sources such as crops. However, we believe that agricultural land should be used to grow food for people or animals, not raw materials for the plastics industry. Therefore, our innovative bio-based materials only contain residues from other processes, such as food or paper production. We believe that using materials that would otherwise be disposed of is a truly sustainable solution.

The bio-based materials are just as durable as regular plastic and can often only be distinguished from fossil-based plastics through scientific analysis. They can be used in products or packaging to replace conventional plastics and thus play an important role in reducing dependence on fossil raw materials.

We believe that bio-based materials help reduce carbon emissions. These materials come from renewable sources and can be recycled just like conventional plastic - so they can remain in the recycling loop.
