Important Aspects Of Baby Play Yards

Size Matters
Take note of the completed setup size. Some setup can be 12 panels but smaller than a 10 panels setup.

Position of Holes MUST be LOW
For safety reasons, avoid all panels with circle, square, star etc. holes above the midway height of the panels. Your baby will be using this elevated holes to climb out very soon. Another safety concern would be the little ones having their head stuck in the holes.
*Why IFAM* All our play yards are tested and curated to ensure that there are no elevated holes in the panels. Also avoid having toys & accessories on the panels as it can be used as leverage for the little ones too.

Reliability of manufacturing raw materials
Play yard panels would be licked, chewed and sucked by your little ones as they start to teeth. For the same reason you do not give your little ones dirty toys, the raw materials used in manufacturing should come from reliable source. Recycled plastics and unknown raw materials source is a huge safety concern.

Play Mat compatibility
There are many playmat thickness and it can be confusing which type to get for your little one. As a general guideline, think of what your little one needs. If they are learning how to crawl / walk, a thicker play mats give them better protection against trip and fall. A thicker play mat also provides lesser impact when they jump and play too.

FAQ

My current mat is 1900 x 1300 x 15mm will this work?

For your mat size, do check out Shell Baby Play Yard 10pcs set for a better fit.

I have vinyl flooring with grooving, will the suction work? Meanwhile what size will this suit? I have a parklon mat and I want this to cover as much as possible.

We do not use suction as suction creates rebound which is dangerous especially for young ones who does not have good control of their strength yet.

The upsized anti slip can be used on most floorings (our showroom uses vinyl flooring too).

The internal area of Baby FIRST is 200x140cm. If the mat is thin but size is similar or a few cm longer, you should be able to use it properly. Nonetheless, you can reach out to us to confirm your sizing before making a purchase.

What is the difference between Baby FIRST Play Yard and Shell Baby Play Yard?

Baby FIRST is the newest design in 2019.

It is enhanced with the following feature:
1. Bigger for more play space
2. Bigger holes for better ventilation
3. NO elevated panels, holes or accessories which kids can attempt to climb onto and out of the play yard

Colour tone is the same for both Baby FIRST and Shell series.

Can playmat size of 140x 210cm fit this play yard?

For thinner play mats (~1.5cm), the width will fit nicely. On the length side, you will have a little excess which you can bend it slightly against the panels.

Q&A

1. Where are IFAM baby products manufactured in?
   All IFAM baby products, inclusive of the materials being used, are all sourced, produced and assembled in Korea.
   
   
2. What material is being used in IFAM products?
   You’d be glad to know that IFAM only uses 100% fresh plastic and not recycled ones unlike other similar baby products. The plastic used in particular is Polyethene (PE), an incredibly useful commodity plastic.
   
   
3. What's the difference between 100% fresh new plastics and recycled ones?
   Manufacturing cost with recycled plastics are lower hence are cheap alternatives to 100% fresh new plastics. 
   
   A report in Jan 2018 noted that 2nd hand plastic toys might contain hazardous elements which can be chronically toxic if children are exposed to them at a low level over an extended period of time. Read the report here.

4. Is PE harmful/ toxic to my child?
   Not in solid form and fresh new ones! Recycled plastics can be harmful if not processed properly. In fact, PE is often also used in food handling too. IFAM baby play yards, toy organizers and all other products are certified by SGS Korea & KTC Korea for baby safety.
   
   
5. Any sharp edges or small & protruding accessories?
   You will not find any sharp edges, small parts and protruding accessories on any IFAM's play yards and toy organizers. 
   
   Here's why - when your baby take their first crawl, walk & climb, they will definitely wobble, trip & fall. Would you rather they fall on a smooth & hollow plastic or fall on something with protruding parts & accessories?

6. There is a small black spot on the panel. Are they defects?
   The short answer is NO. IFAM baby products are manufactured using the blow molding process. During this manufacturing process, a small black spot might occur naturally.

   This black spots are not dangerous and are safe for it's purposes. IFAM does not accept this black spots as a reason for return.

7. Similar looking & "claimed-to-be" IFAM products on market places - are they IFAM products?
   Authentic IFAM products (baby play yards, toy organizers, toys etc.) are made and shipped out from Korea only.

   Made in Korea IFAM products uses raw materials that are certified (SGS, KTC, CE) for baby safety because your little one will be exposed / chewing / licking / in contact with these materials for a few years.

   Lastly, IFAM adopt a "One country, One distributor" model where only ONE distributor is allowed to actively represent IFAM in the countries they are assigned. Be extra cautious when buying from sellers outside of your country as the product is unlikely to be IFAM.

   DO exercise caution when buying from overseas sources that look like or claim to be IFAM (especially those that are ship from non Korea sources). Your little one's safety & long-term health is at stake!
